Hillary Clinton would nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he manages to end the war in Ukraine

New York.- Democrat Hillary Clinton, former First Lady and presidential candidate for her party in the 2016 elections, which she lost to Donald Trump, admitted this Friday that she would be willing to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if the Republican magnate manages to end the war in Ukraine. Clinton expressed himself this Friday on the 'Raging Moderates' podcast, in which he said that Trump "wants with all his will to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, and frankly, if he could end this terrible war...".

I list below the conditions that should be met to achieve an acceptable peace, and which seem very far from what Russia is willing to concede: a ceasefire without exchange of territories, Russian withdrawal from all occupied Ukrainian territories, and that Russia does not threaten the security of Europe; in short, "without putting Ukraine in a position where it has to cede territory to the aggressor".

"Look, if we could achieve all that, and if President Trump were the architect, I would nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize, because my goal here is not to allow capitulation to (Vladimir) Putin, fostered by the United States", he stated.

Clinton's words are known just hours before Trump and Putin meet in Anchorage (Alaska) at an unprecedented summit to discuss the war in Ukraine, which has aroused great interest, even though the Ukrainian government, European countries and the UN have been absent. Trump has never hidden his interest in achieving the Nobel Peace Prize, for which he has promoted agreements in distant conflicts such as those facing Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, or Armenia and Azerbaijan, but so far the two most relevant conflicts for geopolitics, such as the one in Ukraine and the war in Gaza, have resisted him.
