Kaplan: “We want to see Dominicans in Israel soon when there is peace”.
Israel. – The Israel Defense Forces are preparing for a crucial phase in the war against Hamas: entering Gaza City to dismantle what they call the main terrorist stronghold in the Strip. Amidst this offensive, the international spokesperson in Spanish, Roni Kaplan, sent a message to the Dominican people: “We want to see Dominicans here in Israel soon, when there is peace. We love you very much, and we also wish that more Israelis travel to the Dominican Republic.” Kaplan explained that the immediate goal is twofold: to return the kidnapped and to end Hamas both militarily and governmentally.By highlighting Israel's resilience, Kaplan recalled that his people have faced historical tragedies but have never lost hope.“A State is tasked with defending its citizenry. That is what we are doing under the parameters of international humanitarian law, trying to maximize harm to terrorists and minimize harm to civilians,” he stated.
The spokesman insisted that the conflict could end immediately if Hamas laid down its arms: "This war can end in five minutes if they lay down their arms and return the kidnapped. They are responsible for maintaining the suffering in the region."“What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Israel moves forward and has much to offer the world, not to mention the Dominican Republic in terms of innovation, agriculture, science and technology”, he pointed out.

Finally, he insisted that the goal is not to destroy Gaza, but to liberate its population from Hamas's control. "Our enemy is not the civilian population, it is Hamas. That is why we ask people to withdraw from combat zones and we have conditioned humanitarian spaces. We want the future to be peaceful, both for Israeli and Palestinian children," he concluded.
