MINPRE and Sistema 911 deliver 12 fire trucks to strengthen emergency response capacity

Santo Domingo,. – The Ministry of the Presidency (MINPRE) and the National Emergency and Security System 911 delivered 12 modern fire trucks to different locations in the country this Tuesday, with the aim of reinforcing the response capacity to fires and critical situations. The ceremony, held at the National Palace, was led by the Minister of the Presidency and President of the National Council of 911, José Ignacio Paliza, and by the executive director of the System, Colonel Randolfo Rijo Gómez (ERD).

The vehicles were assigned to the fire departments of San José de Ocoa, the National District, La Vega, Monte Cristi, Verón, Santo Domingo Norte, Piedra Blanca (Bonao), Pedro Brand, Villa Altagracia, Maimón (Bonao), Palenque and San Juan, communities that will see their immediate response capacity strengthened. Paliza highlighted that the priority of 911 is "to protect lives and safeguard Dominicans throughout the national territory," while announcing the upcoming expansion of the system to Pedernales province, in support of the area's tourism development. For his part, Rijo Gómez emphasized that with these specialized equipment, the aim is to ensure that firefighters have cutting-edge technology and appropriate tools to deal with emergencies. He also urged communities to take care of and value the new vehicles, which represent a state investment aimed at preserving lives and property. The delivered trucks include personal protective equipment, water pumps, rescue and fire control tools, as well as specialized devices to address complex emergencies. Civil, military, and municipal authorities, as well as representatives from the National District Fire Department and the benefited demarcations, attended the event.
