Washington.- US President Donald Trump assured this Monday in a joint press conference at the White House that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted his twenty-point plan to achieve peace in Gaza, which contemplates a transition government without Hamas, supervised by a board that would be chaired by Trump himself, or the future creation of a Palestinian State. "I want to thank Prime Minister Netanyahu for accepting the plan and for having the confidence that, if we work together, we can put an end to the death and destruction that we have witnessed for so many years, decades, and even centuries, and thus usher in a new era of security, peace, and prosperity for the entire region," Trump told the press after a meeting with the Israeli prime minister.

"If Hamas rejects the agreement, which is possible, they will be the only ones opposing it. Everyone else has accepted it," added the US president, who said that, in any case, he has the feeling that there will be "a positive response" from the Islamist group. Trump also said that, in the event Hamas rejects the proposal, Israel will have the full U.S. support to destroy the militia. "If it's not like that, as you well know, Bibi (diminutive referring to Netanyahu), you will have greater support to take the necessary measures," explained the Republican, who pointed out that he had a "long and tough conversation" today with the Israeli leader. "He understands it's time (to seek a peace agreement)," Trump said about the Israeli leader.
