Santo Domingo. – Reliever Ulises Joaquín expressed optimism for the 2025-2026 season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), assuring that the pitching staff of the Tigres del Licey has the depth and talent necessary to compete at the highest level, as long as health accompanies them.
“To our fans, I tell them to keep supporting us. Nothing is lost. Last year was a great final series, but this season we come with more strength. Your energy drives us; without the fans we are nothing. They are our motivation,” he concluded.

“I am very happy to be here. I feel healthy, which is the most important thing. I think this has been one of my most complete trainings, both physically and mentally. I am ready to give my best and help the team this year”, expressed Joaquin during a conversation with the media in the practices of the blue team. The veteran pitcher highlighted the positive atmosphere that has been felt in the team since day one. "The group is doing very well, from day zero. There are many new faces and we are all working together, because Licey is a family. I thank God for the opportunity and for allowing us to prepare together to seek the goal", he pointed out.Regarding the past season, in which the Tigres reached the final against the Leones del Escogido, Joaquín acknowledged that, although things didn't go as planned, the group maintains faith and focus. “The sun shines for everyone. Last year it wasn't achieved, but God is in control. We come with more faith and the same dedication as always. If we have health, things will go well”, he assured.
As for the bullpen, the right-hander highlighted the combination of experience and youth that the blue bullpen possesses. "If we maintain discipline, we can go very far. We have many young arms with good speed and a lot of heart. The talent is there," he affirmed. Although a specific role hasn't been defined for him yet, Joaquín reiterated his willingness to contribute wherever necessary. "I'm a utility pitcher. Wherever manager Gilbert Gómez needs me, that's where I'll be. I don't like sitting at home; I want to be on the field giving my best," he said with determination.
