Leonardo Aguilera ratifies Banreservas' commitment to sports tourism

Santiago.– Leonardo Aguilera, CEO of Banreservas, reaffirmed the institution's commitment to promoting sports tourism in the Dominican Republic, during the closing of the nineteenth edition of the Grand Thomas Celebrity Classic 2025, held at the Las Aromas Golf Course.

The final day brought together 140 players, thus completing a total participation of 416 golfers in the three stops of the tournament, which established itself as one of the most relevant events in the history of Dominican golf.

During the ceremony, Dr. Aguilera made the opening putt and received special recognition from the organizers, in gratitude for his constant support for the development of the sport and his vision of promoting tourism as a driver of economic growth and international projection of the country. "From Banreservas we promote tourism in all its forms, especially sports tourism, which combines competitiveness, hospitality, and investment. This type of event strengthens the image of the Dominican Republic as a world-class destination and contributes to the sustainable development of our communities," Aguilera said. The closing also included the presence of the mayor of Santiago, Ulises Rodríguez; the manager of Equifax in the Dominican Republic, José Alberto Adam; the president of Wind Telecom, José Clase; and the representatives of Quality Life Foundation, Haime Thomas Frías Carela and Jimmy Frías Velázquez, organizers of the contest. Haime Thomas Frías, president of Quality Life Foundation, highlighted the impact of the event over almost two decades: "The Grand Thomas Celebrity Classic celebrates its 19th year as a platform for integration, values, and excellence. These three stops reflect our commitment to the development of golf and to promoting a quality life through sport," he pointed out.
