SANTO DOMINGO.- San Carlos club was convincing in defeating Mauricio Báez club this Tuesday, 95-81, in a victory, their fourth in a row, with which they achieved qualification to the Elimination Phase even with five dates remaining to finish the regular season of the TBS Distrito 2025.
The TBS District 2025 enters a crucial week, the penultimate of the regular season, where several classifications can be defined in its 16th overall activity, out of a total of 20 rounds. A double clash characterizes this day starting at 7:00 PM, when El Millón faces Rafael Barias, and at 9:00 PM, San Lázaro versus Bameso, in the restart of the matches between teams from the same group, B.

The "Cinco Esquinas" combined team became the first ranked in group A and the first in the entire district tournament to accumulate six victories, with a record of 6-2. On their side, Mauricio evens their record at 4-4, in second place in Group A, tied with Los Prados (4-4) and Huellas del Siglo (3-5), in a regular season that is in crucial days for the classifications to the Elimination Phase.Each group, A and B, grants three spots to the Elimination Phase, and they carry over their same record obtained in the regular season.
The leading scorers for San Carlos, who managed to build a 21-point lead over Mauricio, 77-56, in the third quarter, were Juan Guerrero with 28 points, Jaison Valdez with 17 points, Eddy Polanco with 16, Luis David Montero achieved a double-double of 12 points with 11 rebounds, and the American reinforcement Tyran De Latibeaudiere contributed 10 units, five rebounds and six assists. Pérez, who was a key player in several San Carlos championships in the 1980s, was accompanied by several family members such as his wife Judith Mejía, his children Erick and Evandro, his grandson Jerick and his compadre Juan Antonio Batista.
