Authorities seize weapons, drugs, and more than two tons of electrical wiring in raids in Santiago

Santiago. - Three people were arrested and illegal weapons, drugs, cash, and more than two tons of electrical wiring were seized in a series of three simultaneous raids carried out this Wednesday by the National Police in different sectors of Santiago, as part of actions to combat crime and the theft of public infrastructure. The operations were led by agents from the Intelligence Sub-Directorate (DINTEL), SWAT units, Preventive Police, and representatives of the Public Ministry, in compliance with judicial orders Nos. AJ0080553, AJ0077841, and AJ0077852-2025. During the first raid, carried out in the Mi Vivienda sector of Hato del Yaque, Euri Reyes Hilario, alias El Flaco, was arrested, and 94 portions of alleged marijuana, 43 of alleged cocaine, 10 portions of alleged molly, a scale, a communication radio, a cell phone, RD$900 in cash, and a motorcycle chassis without numbering were seized from him.

In Semillero II, in Santiago Oeste, the authorities arrested Yadira Hernández Martes, who had in her possession a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol with expired documents, four magazines, ten cartridges, a bladed weapon, and a motorcycle license plate reported stolen, as well as portions of copper wire without legal justification. The third operation was carried out at the De los Santos recycling plant, located in Los Solares, where Jorge Contreras Santos was arrested. A 9mm HK pistol without documentation and several portions of copper and aluminum electrical wiring were seized at the scene, belonging to a lot exceeding two tons, presumably the product of theft. The Police reported that the detainees, as well as all the seized evidence, were referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal purposes and that these operations will continue with the aim of counteracting criminal actions that affect the security and essential services of the population.
