Santo Domingo.– Survivors and family members of the victims of the tragedy that occurred at the Jet Set nightclub called for a peaceful march for next Sunday, January 25, with the aim of demanding justice for the 236 deceased and more than 100 injured left by the collapse of the establishment's roof.
The call was made through a publication by the Jet Set Justice Movement, which indicates that the demonstration will begin at 1:00 PM, with the meeting point being the Juan Bosch station of Line 1 of the Santo Domingo Metro, located at the intersection of 27 de Febrero and Máximo Gómez avenues.You may be interested in: Espaillat brothers appear before the court for Jet Set tragedy
In the message, the organizers call on the Dominican people to show solidarity with the bereaved and survivors of the tragedy, which occurred on April 8, and to join the day peacefully. “We call on the Dominican people to join the mourners and survivors of this tragedy and attend this peaceful march. For the truth, memory and justice of those who died on that fateful April 8th,” the publication expresses. The conveners reiterated that the mobilization will be peaceful and seeks to keep alive the memory of the victims, as well as to demand clear answers and responsibilities for one of the most tragic events recorded in the country in recent years.
