Miami, USA – The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, arrived this Friday at 2:24 PM (Miami time) at Miami International Airport to participate in the presidential summit “Shield of the Americas”, convened by US President Donald Trump.
The high-level meeting will be held this Saturday, March 7, and will bring together several international leaders with the aim of addressing various challenges affecting the region and the global stage.

According to information from the Press Department of the Dominican Presidency, the meeting seeks to promote freedom, security, and prosperity on the continent. It was also reported that during the summit, President Trump will hold talks with the visiting leaders to discuss issues related to irregular migration in the United States and the Western Hemisphere, as well as the threat posed by criminal gangs, drug trafficking, terrorism, and organized crime. Within the framework of the event, President Abinader also plans to develop a schedule of bilateral meetings with other leaders, with the purpose of promoting the interests of the Dominican Republic and strengthening cooperation ties with nations in the region. The head of state's participation is part of his international agenda for March, which also includes official commitments in Chile and France, in which the Dominican government seeks to reinforce its presence in spaces for dialogue and decision-making at a global level.
