Abinader launches a title program that will impact more than 25,000 people in Puerto Plata

The Head of State reported that to date more than 130,000 property titles have been delivered throughout the country. Puerto Plata.- The president Luis Abinader launched a comprehensive titling program that will benefit more than 25,000 people, directly impacting more than 5,000 families in the Celestino sectors, in San Marcos, and El Javillar, who will finally be able to obtain their definitive property titles, in this province. More than 132,000 Dominican families have improved their living conditions with the National Titling Plan promoted by President Abinader, by guaranteeing legal security, access to credits and greater value to their properties. These technical, social, and legal works, carried out by the Technical Executive Unit for Land Titling of the State (UTECT), together with National Assets (BN), are developed on plot 175 of Cadastral District no. 09. With this initiative, families who for decades eagerly awaited this moment will be able to realize the dream of having their definitive property title. During the event, President Abinader highlighted that this is the first time he has participated in the launch of a titling program, noting that the initiative has a dual objective: first, to transform a private sector purchase program into direct delivery of titles, and second, to take advantage of his visit to the province to reinforce social cohesion and local development.

The president explained that this program respects property rights, buying from the original owners and transferring the titles to the beneficiary families. In addition, he highlighted the recent approval of the Family Property Law, which will allow owners to mortgage, sell, or transfer their properties to their relatives, as well as access formal financing for the construction of housing or businesses. The president also announced infrastructure improvements for the community of San Marcos, including the construction of sidewalks and curbs, as well as the paving of streets, with the aim of transforming the area in an integral way.
