Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader reiterated this Sunday his firm stance against corruption and impunity, by informing that he sent to the deputy prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso the report that reveals irregularities in the Health Risk Administrator (ARS) Senasa. The leader shared the message through his WhatsApp channel, where he assured that the sending of the document responds not only to the commitment to transparency, but also as a warning to the officials of his government so that they do not incur in bad practices. “During these five years I have fought against impunity and corruption. In coherence with this, I sent the report revealing irregularities in @ARSSeNaSaRD directly to the prosecutor @YeniBerenice, as an additional warning to the officials of my government so that they do not make mistakes. Today I want to remind you that I may have good friends, but never accomplices. In my government I will not allow impunity of any kind,” expressed Abinader.

SENASA Complaints

According to reports, the report sent by the head of state details serious irregularities in the Health Risk Administrator (SeNaSa), so that the Public Ministry can deepen the investigations. Among the complaints are the authorization of more than 4,000 non-existent medical procedures through a supposed "parallel call center", which would have generated losses exceeding 41 million pesos, in addition to delays in payments to providers and an accumulated financial deficit in the subsidized regime that exceeds 3,300 million pesos. The investigations also point to questionable contracts, a significant increase in the employee payroll, and the opening of offices abroad with high costs. Faced with these revelations, the Government has insisted that health services for affiliates will not be affected and has reiterated its policy of "zero tolerance" towards corruption. Meanwhile, audits by the Court of Auditors and the Anti-Fraud Prosecutor's Office accompany the process to clarify responsibilities.
