Alleged shooter in UASD shooting receives medical attention after being arrested by the National Police

Santo Domingo, R.D. – The man accused of injuring two people with a pellet gun during an incident that occurred on the afternoon of this Thursday at the facilities of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), is receiving medical attention after suffering contusions during his arrest. The detainee was identified as Alexander Jiménez Galván, 35 years old, a resident of Santo Domingo Oeste, who was captured moments after the event thanks to the rapid intervention of the university's security personnel.

According to the preliminary report, Jiménez Galván has a head wound and other minor injuries, so he was taken to a health center under police custody. The National Police, in conjunction with the Public Ministry, continues investigations to clarify the causes of the event, determine the origin of the conflict, and establish if other people were involved.
