American citizen murdered in Sosúa; Haitian woman arrested as main suspect

Puerto Plata.- An American citizen was stabbed to death in a condominium in the municipality of Sosúa, Puerto Plata province, in an event allegedly linked to a Haitian national woman. The victim was identified as Jon Eric Xanthos, 63 years old, originally from Draper, Utah (USA), who died of blood loss inside the residence after receiving multiple stab wounds. According to reports, the woman, with whom he allegedly had a romantic relationship, fled the scene after the attack, hiding part of her body with a black jacket and leaving traces of blood on one leg.

Judicial authorities, the Scientific Police, and the medical examiner went to the scene, who removed the body and transferred it to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) for the necessary procedures.
