Armed men attempt to rob Banco Popular branch in Higüey

Higüey, La Altagracia. – Moments of panic were experienced this Thursday morning at the branch of Banco Popular located on Gastón Fernando Deligne street, corner of Agustín Guerrero, when several armed individuals broke into the place with apparent intentions of assault. According to initial reports, the unknown individuals attempted to rob the people inside the banking entity. So far, it has not been confirmed whether they managed to steal money or if anyone was injured during the incident.

Agents of the National Police went to the scene, cordoned off the area and began investigations to find those responsible for the act. The event generated alarm among the residents and merchants of the area, who expressed their concern about the increase in criminal acts in the province of La Altagracia.
