Valverde. – During interdiction and border control operations carried out by the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), ninety-three Haitian nationals with irregular migratory status were detained in the provinces of Valverde and Santiago Rodríguez.
During an operation carried out in the areas of Gurabo and Mao, Valverde province, 71 Haitian nationals were intercepted, including 58 men and 13 women, all undocumented.

While in another carried out by soldiers of the ERD, stationed at the Las Caobas Detachment, Santiago Rodríguez province, another 22 Haitian nationals were arrested, including 19 men and 3 minors, who were trying to evade the military checkpoint. The detainees were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD, to subsequently be handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), for the purpose of applying the corresponding legal procedures. The Dominican Republic Army reiterates its commitment to protect national sovereignty, strengthen border security, and continue developing permanent migratory interdiction operations along the entire border line.
