Valverde. – Some 19 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition were arrested by the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) during an intelligence operation carried out in the municipal district of Amina, Valverde province.
The action occurred when military personnel intercepted a white Hyundai Sonata vehicle, license plate A639816, whose driver fled upon noticing the presence of the troops. Inside the car, eight of the foreigners were found.
Likewise, the authorities seized two motorcycles of different brands in which part of the group was traveling. In total, nine men and ten women of Haitian nationality were arrested.
The detainees and the vehicles seized were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD, based in Mao, for the corresponding legal purposes.
