Santo Domingo. – In recent years, several deaths have been recorded linked to incidents that occurred in elevated areas of the Ágora Mall shopping center, situations that have generated consternation and concern among the citizenry.
The most recent case occurred this Monday, when a woman lost her life after an incident in the parking tower of the shopping center, in an area adjacent to a neighboring property.

Similar events were recorded between the years 2024 and 2025, when adult and young men died after falling from different levels of the shopping center's parking lot. In July 2025, a 21-year-old man died after falling from the parking garage of Ágora Mall onto the grounds of the General Customs Directorate (DGA). Both the institution and the shopping center administration reported at the time that the victim had no employment relationship with either entity. That same year, another 34-year-old citizen was injured after a similar incident occurred on one of the parking garage levels. The man, identified as "Rafael Mejía," suffered "multiple traumas and fractures," but managed to survive. Also, in November 2024, a man identified as "Hernán Espínola Roques, 46 years old," died after falling from the parking garage of the shopping center, located in the National District. In a statement issued on that occasion, the administration of Ágora Mall expressed its solidarity with the victim's family and reiterated that all information related to the case would be handled privately, in accordance with the family's request.
