Santo Domingo.- The National Police reported this Wednesday that, together with the Public Ministry, it is investigating the circumstances in which a man was shot during an attempted robbery at his residence where a small grocery store operates, located in the Mata Gorda sector, in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Norte, dying hours later while receiving medical attention.
The institution's spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, explained that the victim was identified as José Luis Bello Rosario, 43 years old, who entered the Dr. Ney Arias Lora Traumatology Hospital in a delicate condition due to a gunshot wound to the abdomen, passing away on Tuesday night.

According to the statements of the deceased's wife, the event occurred at approximately 1:25 in the morning, when individuals still in the process of identification attempted to enter the house. At that moment, Bello Rosario got up and struggled with the unknown individuals, being hit by a shot that ultimately caused his death. Colonel Pesqueira pointed out that members of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) and the Scientific Police are actively working on the identification and capture of those responsible to bring them to justice.
