Authorities pursue man accused of raping woman with special needs and beating her brother in Cotuí

SÁNCHEZ RAMÍREZ.- The authorities of Cotuí are actively pursuing, through an arrest warrant, a man accused of allegedly sexually abusing a young woman with a special condition, in addition to physically assaulting her brother, who also has the same condition. The alleged aggressor was identified as "William José Rondón, alias 'Cachanga'", who, after committing the act, fled through a scrub area and has not yet been captured.

According to the victim's testimony, the man took advantage of the fact that she and her brother were alone in the house, after their father went out to get food. At that moment, he forced one of the doors of the house, entered by force, committed the assault and subsequently threatened her with death if she revealed what had happened. However, the young woman managed to communicate with another sibling, who immediately went to the house. The authorities have called on the accused to surrender through the appropriate channels and warned that they will not cease their search until they find his whereabouts.
