Carlos Escalante: “We are going to fight for the victims until the end; this cannot go unpunished”

Santo Domingo.– Lawyer Carlos Escalante appeared this Wednesday at the Palace of Justice to participate in the hearing where the coercion measure against Antonio Espaillat and his sister Maribel Espaillat, implicated in the tragedy that occurred in the nightclub Jet Set.

Escalante, who represents several of the victims of the roof collapse, expressed his full support for the measures requested by the Public Ministry and warned that those affected will not allow the case to be forgotten.

"We are ready for today, we are here representing several of the victims who were affected that night by the collapse of the Jet Set roof," he declared to the media. “We hope that today the judge will accept the conclusions that we are going to present, which are the same as those of the Public Prosecutor's Office, preventive detention for Antonio Espaillat and house arrest for Maribel Espaillat,” he added. The jurist assured that he will accompany those affected throughout the judicial process until justice is achieved. “We are going to fight for the victims until the end, this will not go unpunished, because things like these cannot happen again in the country,” he emphasized.
