Santo Domingo.- Communicator Pedro Manuel Casals harshly criticized the meeting held by the Attorney General of the Republic, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, with the Spanish Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and denounced that the Dominican authorities refuse to provide key information regarding the ties of the former Prime Minister of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, with the Dominican Republic.
“I would not want to think that the meeting that both ministers dealt with was to protect Begoña, to protect José Bono, to protect Víctor de Aldama, to protect Hidalgo, to protect the entire framework and the local partners here,” expressed Casals.
During his participation in the program “Esto No Es Radio”, Casals displayed on screen a press publication titled: “Dominican Republic refuses to provide information on Rodríguez Zapatero’s ties to the country”.
“Why do Luis Abinader and the Dominican authorities refuse to provide information on the biggest corruption case in Spain? Why?”, Casals questioned live. He added that the request for information regarding bank accounts and operations of the case has already been blocked by local authorities.
The communicator linked the refusal to provide the data to an alleged intention to “protect” political figures and local partners involved in the scheme. He pointed directly to Begoña Gómez, José Bono, Víctor de Aldama, and Rodríguez Zapatero himself.

Casals also referred to the statements made by Spanish businessman Víctor de Aldama, who on Iker Jiménez’s program Horizonte claimed to be collaborating with the justice system and paid a 3.7 million euro fine to avoid prison. “The mask is off,” said Casals, quoting Aldama.

The program also showed a social media story where Víctor de Aldama himself appears next to Casals, whom he describes as “a brother in values, with codes, with loyalty and truth”.
“And no one can silence that one,” he said categorically.
The communicator insisted that the Attorney General’s Office must provide public explanations as to why the Dominican Republic is not cooperating with Spanish justice in a case involving high-ranking leaders of the PSOE and businessmen with operations in the country.
