Caught on video the alleged assailants who killed a young man in Plaza Gómez Díaz; two are injured and arrested

Santiago. – A security camera video captured the moment the alleged criminals arrived at the house where they were hiding, hours after having shot and killed the young Jennifer Altagracia Rodríguez de González, 36, during a robbery in the entertainment center Plaza Gómez Díaz Bar & Club, located on Hispanoamericana Avenue, in Santiago.

The images match the police version, which indicates that two of those involved were shot during an exchange of gunfire with a lieutenant colonel of the National Police, who was off duty and tried to prevent the assault. Both suspects were apprehended shortly after in an operation carried out in the El Dorado sector, according to official reports.

Earlier, the Police had reported that they were investigating the circumstances in which the senior officer injured two of the three assailants, who minutes earlier had killed Rodriguez Gonzalez to steal her belongings. The woman was shot in the head and died while receiving medical attention. Juan Carlos Espinal, 50 years old, was also injured in the incident, with a gunshot wound to the right glute. According to preliminary reports, the victim was in the establishment accompanied by their partner (whose identity is being kept confidential) when the three individuals attempted to steal their belongings. It was at that moment that the officer intervened, resulting in a shootout in which he himself was injured and remains under medical observation.
