Santo Domingo Oeste. – From the recently inaugurated overpass on 27 de Febrero Avenue, which connects with Isabel Aguiar Avenue, a notable improvement in traffic circulation is observed. The work already shows visible results in the fluidity of traffic and in the reduction of travel time for drivers who cross daily through this point of Greater Santo Domingo.
During a tour of the area, several citizens shared their impressions of the impact of this infrastructure on their daily routine.
Many stated that previously they could take more than an hour to reach their destinations, while today, thanks to the new work, they manage to travel in approximately 35 minutes.
Mr. Luis Martínez expressed his satisfaction upon noticing the difference in vehicular traffic: “Traffic is showing improvement and I hope it continues like this,” he commented.
Similarly, Wilman, another driver consulted, stated that the situation has changed positively: “It’s good now, there are no traffic jams anymore. In the mornings there is still a bit of congestion, but now traffic flows much better,” he explained.
Another interviewee shared his enthusiasm for the reduction in time on his daily commute: “Before it took more than an hour to arrive, and now I make the same journey in 35 minutes. This is a blessing, really,” he expressed with joy, assuring that the difference is felt from the first day.
Likewise, Elvin, a resident of the area, highlighted the visibility and order of the new overpass: “It can be appreciated, it looks better, much better,” he said while emphasizing the organization of traffic.
This infrastructure, inaugurated recently by President Luis Abinader, benefits more than one million people and allows a reduction of up to 40% in travel time between Santo Domingo Oeste, the South, and the National District.
