Clear skies and isolated cloudiness will predominate today in a large part of the country

Isolated and weak showers are expected due to wind drag

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that a high-pressure system will be affecting the national territory, so conditions of clear skies and isolated cloudiness will prevail in most of the country, which will favor the carrying out of outdoor activities.

However, isolated and weak showers are expected due to wind drag, mainly in eastern and northeastern provinces such as La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor and Samaná in the morning, extending in the afternoon towards La Romana, Sánchez Ramírez and Monseñor Nouel. For tomorrow, Tuesday, the high-pressure system will continue to dominate the weather conditions. The cloudiness carried by the east wind could generate weak and isolated rains in areas near the coasts, especially in Barahona, La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez during the early hours of the day. In the afternoon, a mostly clear sky is expected, with some episodes of isolated showers in the Central Mountain Range until the early hours of the night.

Pleasant Temperatures

Indomet also indicated that temperatures will remain pleasant during the night and early morning, with a cooler thermal sensation in mountainous areas of the interior of the country. The minimums will range between 20 °C and 22 °C, while the maximums will be between 29 °C and 31 °C.

Maritime Conditions

Regarding maritime conditions, the agency recommended that operators of fragile and small vessels on the Atlantic and Caribbean coasts navigate with caution near the coast and avoid venturing out to sea, due to the presence of abnormal winds and waves.
