Santo Domingo.– The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported, as of 11:00 a.m., significant damage from the rains caused by a tropical wave with cyclonic potential in different provinces of the country.
According to the bulletin, 351 homes were affected, with 1,781 people displaced and evacuated, nine communities cut off and 26 people housed in shelters. In addition, ten aqueducts are out of service, affecting some 17,925 users, according to the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewers (INAPA). - Verón-Punta Cana: 26 flooded homes and urban damage in Verón, Bávaro, Cortesito and Sabana de Los Martínez; a fallen tree obstructed the Higüey-Anamuyita road, now open.
- Monte Plata: collapse of the bridge on the Don Juan-Yamasá road, after the passage of a dump truck that caused the death of the driver; communities of Yamasá and Monte Plata are out of communication.
- Azua: overflow of the Tábara River affected 160 homes and displaced 774 people; Civil Defense opened a shelter in Liceo Gregorio Luperón with nine families (26 people).
- San Pedro de Macorís: urban floods due to malfunction of the drainage in Placer Bonito, Pedro Justo, Barrio México, La Batea, Kennedy and other sectors; communities near the Soco River partially out of communication.
- Santiago: 150 partially flooded homes in sectors such as Los Cocos de Jacagua, Cienfuegos, Barrio Libertad, Mella I and southern ring road.
