COE recommends small vessels to remain in port due to abnormal waves

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported this Sunday that maritime conditions on the coasts of the Dominican Republic are deteriorated due to strong winds and abnormal waves, according to the most recent bulletin from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET). Given this situation, the authorities ordered that operators of fragile, small, and medium-sized vessels on the Atlantic coast remain in port from Cabo Engaño, in La Altagracia province, to Cabo Francés Viejo, in María Trinidad Sánchez, due to adverse conditions at sea.

For the rest of the Caribbean coast, authorities recommend navigating with extreme caution near the coast, without going far out to sea. The COE urged boat operators and the general population to stay alert to official bulletins and follow the recommendations of emergency agencies to avoid incidents at sea.
