Santo Domingo.– The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the National District will hear this Tuesday the request for a coercive measure against a 43-year-old man accused by the Public Ministry of allegedly assaulting and abusing his grandmother, an 87-year-old woman, in the Cristo Rey sector.
The defendant was identified as José Gabriel Taveras Ramírez, who, according to the accusation, allegedly took advantage of the vulnerable condition of the elderly woman, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, to commit the act.
According to the prosecution, the man was allegedly under the influence of narcotic substances at the time of the incident, which is why they will request the court to impose pretrial detention against him.
