Construction of the new Yamasá municipal market begins with the first groundbreaking led by the governor and the mayor

Yamasá, Monte Plata.– With the presence of local authorities, community leaders and government representatives, the first groundbreaking for the construction of the new municipal market of Yamasá took place this Friday, a work long awaited by the population. The event was headed by the provincial governor of Monte Plata, Lic. Rafaela Javier Gomera, and the municipal mayor, Ing. Cruzdeivy De Los Santos. During her speech, the governor highlighted that this initiative responds to the government's commitment to the development of rural communities, while reaffirming her support for projects that promote collective well-being. "The women and men of the countryside will have a dignified space to market their products. This work is the result of the working meetings we have been holding in the province, where real needs are identified and transformed into concrete solutions," said Javier Gomera. He also thanked President Luis Abinader for continuing to promote works that strengthen local economies, highlighting that "results are in consistency."

Mayor Cruzdeivy De Los Santos described the work as a dream come true for the municipality of Yamasá. He thanked the central government for its support and recognized the governor as a key ally in making this project a reality. "It wasn't easy, but perseverance brought us here. The president promised it and today he is fulfilling with Yamasá," said De Los Santos.

Economic and Social Impact

The new market will have adequate spaces for the sale of fresh and processed products, directly benefiting producers, merchants, and consumers. It is expected that the work will generate "direct and indirect jobs" and boost the municipality's economy, significantly improving the quality of life of its inhabitants. The mayor of the municipal district Don Juan, Lionsito José (Tito), also attended the event; the vice mayor of Yamasá, representatives of the church, local authorities, community leaders and dozens of citizens, who expressed their support for the initiative. With this first pickaxe, local and provincial authorities begin a work that will mark a before and after in the commercial infrastructure of Yamasá. Governor Javier Gomera reaffirmed her commitment to the progress of Monte Plata, supporting actions that promote sustainable development and the dignity of its communities.
