Crime Rises in Los Alcarrizos Despite New Police Patrol Model

Santo Domingo Oeste.– Residents of the municipality of Los Alcarrizos denounced that crime has increased in recent weeks, despite the fact that the authorities implemented a new patrol model to stop robberies and assaults.

According to residents, robberies continue to occur in broad daylight and, in different sectors of the municipality, it is not possible to go out at night. They state that criminals travel on motorcycles and act with total impunity.

“This is worse than ever. Here, you can't even go out to the corner with a cell phone because they take it from you. The patrols haven't solved anything,” said Odalis Corcino, a resident of the area.

Other community members pointed out that, in addition to the increase in robberies, thefts have also been recorded inside the Los Alcarrizos market.

“Here we are, still with the same problems and getting worse. You can't let your guard down because, when you come to see, they take all your merchandise,” stated Justino Rodriguez, who works in the market.

Faced with this situation, residents are asking the National Police for an urgent review of the security plan in the municipality, as well as increased night surveillance to stop the criminal acts that are keeping the community in turmoil.
