Santo Domingo. – Within the framework of the swearing-in of the directive office and the opening of the second legislature 2025–2026, the president of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos, thanked the 31 senators who have accompanied him in the legislative management and reaffirmed his commitment to continue working “hard” so that the projects that society demands continue to be approved.
De los Santos highlighted that the productivity achieved in Congress would not have been possible without the dedication of each legislator, underlining that the new legislative period represents a space of continuity to advance structural reforms.Rate President Abinader's management
In his words, the Senate president also valued the first year of President Luis Abinader's administration in his second term, calling him a ruler who has worked with transparency, ethics and for the benefit of all social sectors. Regarding the immediate challenges, De los Santos identified as a priority the modification to the Criminal Procedure Code, which must be approved before December, as well as labor reform, the Social Security law, and the long-awaited Water Law, which has been pending in Congress for decades. "We are fully determined to give the country these fundamental laws to guarantee rights and strengthen institutionalism," he assured.Finally, the senator for Sánchez Ramírez thanked the voters of his province and guaranteed that he will continue working for both local development and the country. “We come with renewed energy to continue representing, legislating and overseeing with the same intensity as until today”, he expressed.
