Santo Domingo.- The former Minister of Public Works and former member of the Central Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Víctor Díaz Rúa, reacted harshly to statements made by the current Organization Secretary of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Deligne Ascención, who stated that in five years the government of President Luis Abinader has built more works than the PLD in 16 years. Through the social network X, Víctor Díaz Rúa, lashed out at Asención and called said comparison “nonsense.”

“The truth is that one has to listen to some nonsense, that’s only in his mind,” wrote Díaz Rúa.

Ascención’s statements were offered during his presentation “The Country That Luis Builds,” held in Santo Domingo Este, where he highlighted what he considered the infrastructure legacy of the current government.

“President Luis Abinader’s government has transformed the national geography with the delivery of more than 700 works in every corner of the country,” said Ascención, who also holds the position of minister without portfolio. Ascención affirmed that, with these figures, the current government surpasses the administrations of Leonel Fernández and Danilo Medina in achievements. “In five years we can compare the government of Luis Abinader with the 16 years of the PLD and you can be sure that we come out winning.”
