Santo Domingo.– The judges of the Second Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeals of the National District retired to deliberate after concluding the hearing in which they heard the appeals filed by seven of the defendants in the judicial process for alleged irregularities in the National Health Insurance (Senasa).
The court, composed of magistrates Isis Muñiz, Teófilo Andújar, and Luis Omar Jiménez, must decide whether to maintain or modify the coercive measures imposed on the defendants, who are currently serving pre-trial detention at the Las Parras Correctional Center, in the municipality of San Antonio de Guerra.
Among the defendants requesting a less severe measure are Santiago Hazim, Rafael Luis Martínez Hazim, Gustavo Enrique Messina Cruz, Germán Rafael Robles Quiñones, Francisco Iván Minaya Pérez, Ramón Alan Speakler Mateo and Ada Ledesma Ubiera.
