SANTO DOMINGO, R.D. – The Dominican Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SDOT), launched the XLVI International Congress of Orthopedics and Traumatology, one of the most important scientific meetings in the health sector in the country, which will bring together national and international experts for the exchange of knowledge, academic updating and medical innovation.
During the event, the next December 6th will be held the SDOT Electoral Ordinary Assembly, space in which Dr. Andy De León will participate as a candidate for the presidency by the Plan No. 1, made up of a diverse team of specialists from all over the national territory.

De León highlighted that his proposal is based on seven strategic pillars aimed at institutional strengthening and a vision for the future of Dominican orthopedics, among which are:- Reform and update of the SDOT statute
- Comprehensive modernization of the institution
- Continuous academic and scientific drive
- Transparency in financial management
- Effective representation and professional growth of orthopedists
- Greater national visibility in musculoskeletal issues
- Unity, internal democracy and sense of belonging
