Santo Domingo.– Dominican writer based in Houston, Texas, Esther Amaro Castillo presented her children’s book “V for Valiant” (“V de valiente”), a work inspired by the stories of thousands of Dominicans who leave their communities to build a better future for their families, inside or outside the country.
The launch took place in the Carmen Natalia Room of the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National Library, where the author explained that the book seeks to convey to children and adults the value of facing changes with determination and turning every new beginning into an opportunity to grow.

During the activity, Castillo revealed that the story was born from his father’s experience, who as a teenager left the countryside to move to the city with the purpose of forging a better future.
