Driver dies of electrocution after his vehicle makes contact with power lines in La Sabina

A man died this Saturday in the community of La Sabina, after the vehicle he was driving came into contact with the electrical wiring in the area, causing a strong discharge that cost him his life, according to information provided to this media outlet. Several police units arrived at the scene, headed by Second Lieutenant López Biel, from the Blanco Arriba detachment, to begin the process of removal and the corresponding investigation. Minutes later, another unit from San Francisco de Macorís joined, because the event occurred on the border between both jurisdictions. The victim was identified as Rafael Almonte, who was regularly involved in the transportation of wood in the community.
