Drug sales point dismantled in Sabana Iglesia and man arrested with cocaine, marijuana and heroin

Santiago.- The National Police dismantled a drug distribution point in the municipality of Sabana Iglesia and arrested a man in possession of multiple portions of narcotic substances, cash, and objects used for illegal sales. The operation was carried out in the La Zanja sector, where agents raided an improvised shack on an empty lot that served as a drug distribution center. At the scene, Ángel de Jesús Fernández Cabral, alias “El Flaco”, was arrested, who at the time of his arrest had in his possession a package with 139 portions of a plant presumably marijuana, a large portion of that same plant and another portion of a white powder, presumably cocaine.

Also, the agents seized a black jar with 51 portions of an unknown material, presumably heroin, as well as a scale, a communication radio, a pair of scissors, a cell phone, a one-dollar bill, and the sum of 18,080 pesos in cash, distributed in bills and coins of different denominations. The action was coordinated by the Property Crimes Investigation Division based in Jánico, along with members of the Preventive Police, as part of the operations deployed in the province to combat micro-trafficking. The detainee and the evidence were sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the appropriate purposes. Authorities reiterated their commitment to continue confronting the sale and distribution of drugs in neighborhoods and communities of this city
