La Romana. – The Unipersonal Court issued an acquittal by pure and simple discharge in favor of Mr. Eduardo Yan Disten, current president of the Association of Drivers and Owners of Urban Transport (Asochoptur Route A).
The accusation had been filed by a group of owners and investors, led by the Rijo brothers, who, along with other route owners, filed a formal complaint as a civil plaintiff, alleging alleged embezzlement or misappropriation of funds from said transportation organization, one of the oldest in the city and which covers the entire central part of La Romana.
The executives were accompanied by their legal representatives, Doctors Manuel Castro Laureano and Francis Severino.
Upon leaving the courtroom, Eduardo Yan expressed his satisfaction with the court’s decision and highlighted the work done by the board during his tenure.
The court ruled in favor of Yan Disten after not finding sufficient evidence of the accusations against him.
