Santo Domingo.- Today the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey signed a declaration as guarantors of the peace agreement on Gaza, days after the start of the truce between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist movement Hamas. In this regard, an expert in international politics and congressmen from the Dominican Republic have positively valued the end of the war, however, they warn that caution is needed.
According to internationalist Adrián Lebrón, the fact that the world is beginning to see firm steps in the direction of overcoming the conflict is positive and the efforts of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, are bearing fruit.
"We have seen that Hamas released 20 hostages alive, Israel did the same with a significant number of prisoners, and President Trump's efforts are bearing fruit, there is no doubt that the leadership of the United States is fundamental for the Netanyahu of Israel, as I call him, to yield a little and stop what the world saw as an indiscriminate slaughter of people in the Gaza Strip," explained Lebrón.

However, the expert described the agreement as "a fragile peace" because everything is never clear with a para-state group like Hamas, which has always had violence as its main strategic weapon. "For now, what we are seeing is positive, but we have to be cautious because anything could happen and derail the negotiations," he pointed out.In that sense, deputy Ignacio Aracena, president of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and International Cooperation, congratulated Donald Trump's leadership as a mediator in this war and hopes that this will continue to be reconsidered in all territories that remain in conflict. "We will always bet on peace in the world," said Aracena.
Likewise, the deputy for the Fuerza del Pueblo, Félix Michell, said that the peace agreement is "good news for the world" and hopes that the world "takes a much more positive and fraternal turn" from this moment on. Finally, Congressman Carlos De Pérez stated that it was demonstrated that the conflict does not focus on Israel, but on the Hamas group, and highlighted the political role of the United States in this agreement. However, he warned that "peace will be temporary", due to the political interests that remain in force between both parties and that, periodically, could resurface.
