Santo Domingo Norte. – Camila Nolasco, 32 years old, aunt of the young
Leuri Martínez Nolasco, denounced this Tuesday the lack of attention from the
authorities regarding the murder of her nephew, which occurred on the night of Thursday, August 21, on the main street of the
Los Casabes sector,
Santo Domingo Norte.
Martínez Nolasco, 23 years old, lost his life immediately after receiving two gunshot wounds that caused external bleeding and a head injury,
while working at a tire repair shop in the area.
According to Camila's statements, an individual identified as Balbarin would have threatened the deceased with death. Likewise, two men known as El Flaco and Puly, who remain fugitives, were identified as possible accomplices in the act.
The complainant asserted that, despite having followed the appropriate procedures, the authorities have not issued arrest warrants against those accused nor have they allowed them access to surveillance camera recordings that could provide key evidence.
“We feel that the case has been ignored; so far we do not see a real effort by the authorities to find those responsible for this painful crime,” expressed Camila, visibly affected, when demanding justice for her nephew.
While María del Carmen, 54, the deceased's grandmother, stated that she fears for her life and needs the intervention and support of police officers. She affirmed;
"we went to the detachment and it seems they have sold out. We want justice."
The young man's relatives asked the National Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office to intensify the investigations and find those responsible.
