La Vega. – A large fire destroyed the store Obutik Ñoño and affected several neighboring businesses this Monday morning, in an incident that occurred on Duvergé street, almost corner of Professor Juan Bosch, in the heart of the city of La Vega.
Although the material losses are considerable, no human victims have been reported so far.

The fire broke out around 11:00 a.m., causing a rapid mobilization of units from the Fire Department of La Vega, as well as personnel from the 9-1-1 Emergency System, who worked to control the flames and prevent their spread to other establishments. Dozens of onlookers gathered in the surrounding area to observe the fire, while representatives of the rescue organizations collaborated with the rescue and logistical support efforts. As of the closing of this report, authorities have not specified the origin of the fire, but a preliminary report from the Fire Department is expected in the coming hours.
