Santo Domingo. - Five months after the horrific event of the collapse of the Jet Set nightclub that left more than 230 dead and multiple injured, Mrs. Melba Grullón remembers her daughter Alexandra Grullón who died in this unfortunate tragedy, and highlights that it has been very desolate to continue life without her.
Through her social media, doña Melba Grullón stated: "How desolate it has been in these five months to see your first wedding anniversary, your birthday, and my birthday go by without you, physically," she said.
"On August 21st, we held the launch event for the Scholarship Fund. I felt accompanied and united with all your siblings, family, friends, and colleagues, who, with choked voices and lumps in their throats, confirmed to me that we are doing exactly what you yourself would have done. Your beautiful image on the screen filled that hall with the presence of Vice President Raquel Peña, Eduardo Guarionex's parents, ministers, the mayor of Santo Domingo, more than 14 rectors and representatives of the country's universities, and leaders from the private sector," Grullón highlighted.
In the middle of this post, Grullón highlights that the work that his daughter would also be doing if she were alive has continued: "Less than a month has passed since then and we have already approved the first ALE scholarships for Estefanit, Elian, Osiris, Luis, Lía, Megane, Paola, Eva, Giani, Digna, Laura, Junior, Nelfa, Orlando, Pamela, José, Paula, Isabela and María. Your energy and your desire to do good are coming true. It is the mission to which I am now dedicated along with your godparents, family and friends who cried with joy with me the day we approved the first scholarships," he highlighted.
Finally, she said goodbye with very encouraging words that soothe the soul, and she quoted a well-known Bible verse, Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
