Santo Domingo.– The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) reported that it has maintained close collaboration with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for several months in the investigation involving businessman Fabio Augusto Jorge-Puras.
The head of the DNCD, Vice Admiral José M. Cabrera Ulloa, explained that the former honorary advisor for Free Zones is the subject of an investigation for alleged trafficking of illicit substances and that there is an arrest warrant against him. The Vice Admiral indicated that the investigations were kept confidential so as not to interfere with the judicial process being carried out by the Southern District of Miami. He also emphasized that the recent repeal of Article 7 of Decree 241-21 is a new demonstration of the president's determination to ensure that there is no impunity.
