Santiago. – Former mayor of Santiago de los Caballeros, Gilberto Serulle, continues to be admitted to the Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS), where he is receiving chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
The information was confirmed by Ervin Vargas, former municipal official and close to the family, who explained that Serulle recently traveled to the United States, where, after several medical studies, a small pancreatic tumor was detected. He also indicated that specialists are considering removing it after the chemotherapy process is completed.

Vargas recalled that the former mayor had already presented health complications in the past, but assured that he is currently under the corresponding medical care and attention. Gilberto Serulle led the Mayor's Office of Santiago between 2010 and 2016, nominated by the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), after having previously left the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).
