Mostly clear conditions are expected for the afternoon across a large part of the national territory
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that the transport of cloudiness by the east wind will be determining the weather conditions during this Sunday, generating weak and passing rains in the early hours of the day over provinces in the east and northeast of the country.
Rainfall will occur mainly in La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez, extending during the morning towards Barahona and Pedernales. However, for the afternoon a mostly clear environment is expected in a large part of the national territory, with widely isolated and weak rains concentrated towards the Central mountain range. In the National District and Greater Santo Domingo, a sky with scattered clouds is expected during the forecast period.Temperatures
Indomet indicated that temperatures will remain pleasant, with lows between 20 °C and 22 °C and highs of 29 °C to 31 °C, especially cool in mountainous areas and inland valleys. Likewise, fogs or mists are expected during the early morning hours in elevated areas. You may be interested in: Scattered showers will continue tonight and the weather will improve on Sunday, reports Indomet
Maritime Conditions
Regarding the maritime conditions, the agency recommends that operators of fragile, small, and medium-sized vessels remain in port on the Atlantic coast, from Cabo San Rafael (La Altagracia) to Cabo Francés Viejo (María Trinidad Sánchez), as well as on the Caribbean coast, from Isla Beata (Pedernales) to Paraíso (Barahona), due to moderate winds and abnormal waves. In the rest of the coastline, it is advised to navigate with caution without going far out to sea.For this Monday, a high-pressure system will continue to limit the moisture content, so scattered clouds and little precipitation will predominate. However, weak rains could occur in the early hours in Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez, while isolated episodes are expected in the afternoon in Monte Plata, La Altagracia, Monseñor Nouel and Santiago.
For Tuesday, the agency forecasts a slight increase in humidity, which will favor scattered showers that will start on the north coast during the morning and will extend in the afternoon towards the northeast, the Cibao Valley and the Central mountain range.
