INTRANT and Nippy sign strategic agreement for motoconchos

Santo Domingo,.- In a key step towards the inclusion and formalization of independent work in Dominican Republic, the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT) and Nippy signed a cooperation agreement to digitize the mandatory training of motoconcho drivers and bring them closer to new spaces and services that strengthen their well-being and economic development. The agreement was signed by the executive director of INTRANT, Milton Morrison, and the co-founder of Nippy, Diego Amondaray, in an official act that was attended by national authorities, representatives of mototaxi federations and strategic partners such as Mastercard, Motoben and CONACERD.

This agreement will allow, for the first time, the mandatory courses for the formalization of motorcycle workers to be carried out virtually through the Nippy platform. This represents a fundamental advance, as it prevents drivers from having to interrupt their working day to meet the requirements demanded by the State. Stops with more amenities In addition to the digitalization of the training process, the agreement contemplates the creation of rest areas and services —the so-called “Nippy Points”— at strategic points in the country. These places will allow motorcycle taxi drivers to access shaded areas, hydration, and connectivity, as well as receive assistance with procedures, insurance, or financial products. During the event, the director of INTRANT, Milton Morrison, celebrated that Enevial now has at its disposal a tool that allows it to advance with the training of the sector without restrictions and reaffirmed the institutional commitment to the improvement of road safety and the formalization of the sector. Financial Inclusion For his part, Diego Amondaray, co-founder of Nippy, highlighted that “this alliance not only seeks to digitize training, but also to build a sustainable ecosystem that allows workers to access rights, services and better conditions to carry out their work with dignity. It’s not about forcing them to take a course, it’s about multiplying their opportunities in life.” The agreement also includes a key axis: financial inclusion. Through joint work with Mastercard and CONACERD, Nippy will bring motoconchos closer to digital collection banking services, digital wallets, savings tools, consumption, and financing products adapted to their reality, with the aim of strengthening their economic autonomy. This initiative is part of the Motoben program, promoted by INTRANT, which aims to regularize more than 400,000 motoconcho drivers throughout the country. With this signature, the Dominican Republic takes a decisive step towards a safer, formalized, and more humane mobility, integrating technology, education, and innovation to transform the lives of those who sustain a large part of the urban economy.
