A man is sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping a 12-year-old teenager.

Santo Domingo.- A court in Santo Domingo Este sentenced a man to twenty years in prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old teenager, in an incident that occurred in Santo Domingo Norte in 2024.

The complaint was filed on September 17, 2024, by the victim’s mother, who said she found out about everything that happened after taking the teenager to the gynecologist, with pelvic pain and an infection.

The teenager confessed that the aggressor, José Miguel Lasose, had sexually abused her. According to the victim, Lasose took advantage of the moments when her mother was not present to abuse her. To prevent her from telling what happened, he offered her money. By decision of the court, Lasose must serve the sentence at the Najayo Men’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
