Santo Domingo.– Lawyer Yery Castro assured that there are high expectations regarding the ruling that will be announced this Sunday afternoon on Operation Cobra, identified as one of the most serious corruption cases imputed by the Public Ministry during the administration of prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso.

Castro pointed out that the legal community remains attentive to the court's decision, and although he defined himself as a promoter of freedom in the processes he defends, he considered that in this case the main defendants meet the conditions for the imposition of preventive detention, due to the seriousness of the facts.

He indicated that, although some defendants have collaborated with the Public Ministry and could receive other considerations, the main accused would be exposed to the most severe measure, as it is an alleged fraud that would have affected the health of more than eight million members of the social security system.

The jurist informed that the ruling will be known this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in an expanded courtroom, because the usual courtroom does not have enough capacity to accommodate all parties involved.
