According to the record, both were traveling on a black Z3000 CG200 motorcycle, driven by Jiménez Félix, when Torres Ortiz would have snatched the wallet from the victim, which contained cash. The document indicates that, after committing the act, the driver of a vehicle who witnessed the scene hit the alleged assailants' motorcycle to prevent their escape. As a result of the crash, the motorcycle was partially destroyed, so the suspects left the scene on foot. Subsequently, the Santiago Prosecutor's Office executed the arrest warrants against the accused when they appeared before the Department of Crimes and Offenses against Property of the prosecuting body. The Public Ministry indicated that it has videos from surveillance cameras that captured the incident, which were collected by the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) and the Cybernetic Police Area Directorate (DICAT). Provisionally, the accused are charged with violating several articles of the Dominican Republic Penal Code, related to criminal association and attempted robbery with violence on public roads. The court postponed the hearing until Friday, March 13th.
