Three months of pre-trial detention imposed on military man accused of murdering young man in Los Guandules

Santo Domingo.- The Permanent Attention Office of the National District imposed this Friday three months of preventive prison on the major of the Dominican Republic Army Diego Geraldo Mesa, accused of being linked to the death of the young Jokasta Santos Pacheco, 19 years old. The decision was made after the court accepted the request of the Public Ministry, considering that there are sufficient elements linking the officer to the event that caused the young woman's death, which occurred under circumstances that are still under investigation. According to the accusing body, the coercive measure was requested due to the seriousness of the case, as well as to ensure the presence of the accused during the development of the judicial process and to avoid possible interference or obstruction in the investigation.
